Jill Allanson - the person behind the artist
Jill and Evan Allanson established and own Lyndoch Lavender Farm and Cafe. Since their son, Mathew began managing the farm Jill has been able to spend more time on one of her other passions, painting.
"Over 25 years ago, because of other pursuits (mainly setting up a lavender farm and playing bridge), I gave up oil and watercolour painting. Then, in August 2019, I once again picked up my brushes and plunged into acrylics. I quickly realised I needed to push myself and expand my repertoire if I was to keep up with the ideas flooding my head. Still experimenting, I am in a hurry, I want to try everything, doing florals, loving landscapes, and thoroughly enjoying abstraction - depicting the feeling, not just the reality".
Jill exhibits at 'Top of the Torrens' in Birdwood, South Australia and had an exhibition in March 2021, at 'Linhay Gallery' Auburn, South Australia.
She currently has an exhibition at Lambert Wine Estate in Angaston from 18th Nov 21 - 12th January 22, and has further exhibits planned this year, so keep watching.
Jill also has smaller paintings pertinent to the Lyndoch Lavender Farm available for sale in the Farm shop - available during opening hours.
